It’s that time of year again! The Girls on the Run 5K is happening on Saturday, December 7th at 7150 Columbia Gateway Drive (map attached).
Two years ago, we started partnering with GOTR to run their coffee booth, which is an opportunity for us to help GOTR with staffing, and it’s also an opportunity for marketing our club and doing a small amount of fundraising! We had a great volunteer turnout for the booth this past June, and we would love to see the same turnout this winter.
–selling coffee and baked goods to tired parents and runners!
–giving coffee to volunteers (race volunteers get free coffee)
–promoting our awesome club (giving out our business cards, answering any questions people might have about Kiwanis, encouraging people to sign up on our sign up sheet for more info)
–having fun with other members of your club at an awesome community event!
Kennette Mitchell has generously volunteered to make our coffee again this year, and Michael Ball has volunteered to pick up the baked goods at Wegmans and help during the event. But we need more help!
Here are the shifts that will need to be staffed:
6:30AM: Set up booth (put out baked goods, prepare coffee station, hang a few small signs, etc.)
7AM-8AM Selling coffee and baked goods!
8AM-9AM Selling coffee and baked goods!
9AM-10AM Selling coffee and baked goods! 10AM-11AM Clean up
Please send an email by Friday, November 29th if you are interested in volunteering for our booth.
Don’t forget, you can also volunteer for the race itself as a course marshall, etc. There are also a lot of opportunities to volunteer on days prior to the event, at packet pick-up, etc.
Thanks to everyone for their support of our partner GOTR!
